Whatsapp Turns App Into Yellow Pages New Update.

With the release of a new WhatsApp update, some users will be able to utilise the messaging service as a business directory.

In So Paulo, Brazil, a trial programme to test the service will debut, providing thousands of local businesses and services a place on the Facebook-owned app.

Will Cathcart, WhatsApp's CEO, said, "I'm excited we're starting to pilot a local business directory within WhatsApp."

“This can assist you in locating and contacting local companies such as your neighbourhood coffee shop, florist, clothes store, and others.”

If the Yellow Pages-style service proves to be a success, it will be expanded to additional nations in the following months, with India and Indonesia being the most likely markets to follow.
